Gen Con 2023: A Summary of the News

 

Gen Con 2023 just ended, and there's been a lot of news coming out of the convention. Here's a summary of some of the biggest announcements:

  • Magic: The Gathering is returning to Lorwyn, a fan-favorite plane that hasn't been seen since 2007. The new set, codenamed "Wrestling," will be released in 2024.
  • Paizo has announced a new edition of its popular sci-fi RPG, Starfinder. The new edition, called Starfinder: Second Edition, will be released in 2024.
  • Free League Publishing has announced several new releases for its The One Ring RPG line. These include a new expansion, Moria: The Long Dark, and a new sourcebook, The Grey Company.
  • Fantasy Flight Games has announced a new cooperative board game called Arkham Horror: The Card Game – Innsmouth Conspiracy. The game will be released in 2024.
  • Asmodee has announced a new cooperative board game called Nemesis: Lockdown. The game is a sequel to the popular game Nemesis, and it will be released in 2023.

I'm excited to see all of the new games and expansions that have been announced at Gen Con 2023. I'm especially looking forward to checking out the new Starfinder edition and the Arkham Horror: The Card Game – Innsmouth Conspiracy.
